This past Friday night, Singer/Songwriter Brandi Carlile hosted her annual Echoes Through The Canyon concert at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington state. Annie Lennox joined the show as a surprise guest and performed her 1992 hit “Why”. Then, at the same venue on Saturday night, Joni Mitchell made a triumphant return to the stage after 20 years for Joni Jam, a star-studded concert (Sarah Maclachlan and Marcus Mumford, just to name two), modeled by organizer Brandi Carlile after the “Joni Jams” the singer has at her home. The show had Mitchell and Carlile seated in armchairs surrounded by friends and admirers as Mitchell sang and played guitar on songs from her unparalled songbook. Annie Lennox joined in for a cover of Mitchell’s “Ladies of the Canyon”, a song which she had previously recorded in 1995 and which appears on her greatest hits compilation, The Annie Lennox Collection. Below are some photos and videos from both events. Thank you to XIX Entertainment for use of the photos. Photographer credits:
